Mt. Washington 101
In this two day course, you will learn basic skills such as crampon technique, self-arrest, packing, preparing for weather, etc. It includes an ascent of Mount Washington via routes such as Lion Head winter route or Central Gully in Huntington Ravine.
Intro to Sport Climbing
Learn the world of sport climbing which focuses on high intensity climbing using fixed protection (bolts). You will learn about knots and hitches, movement, anchor building, belay techniques, and much more.
Intermediate Ice Climbing
We take folks with a basic knowledge of ice climbing to do steeper objectives or multi-pitch routes. These can include Crawford Notch, Mount Willard, Frankenstein Cliff, and Cathedral Ledge.
Introduction Ice Climbing
During this one day course, you will learn the basics of movement on ice, crampon technique, belaying, and much more.
Gym to Crag
If you are looking to put your skills developed in our bouldering gym into the real world, this course is for you. Mountaineering 201
This intermediate program can be customized to your learning or climbing objectives. These programs range from 2 to 4 days and can cover topics such as glacier travel, crevasse rescue, climbing steep snow and alpine ice, snow camping and much more.
Courses
Crevasse Rescue
In this course you will learn the skills to prepare you for your next glacier climb on such peaks as Mount Rainier and Mount Baker in Washington State. Learn about multiple crevasse rescue systems, mechanical advantage 3:1, 6:1, knots, hitches, snow anchors, running protection and much more.
Denali Prep
Prepare yourself for climbing challenging peaks such as Denali. During this four day course you will learn about crevasse rescue, glacier travel, knots, hitches, self-arrest, crampon technique, sled hauling, winter camping, running protection, ascending fixed lines, and much more. This course is for more intermediate climbers that may not have a ton of glacier experience.
